Many women have the kind of life experiences which will be useful as a councillor – listening, working with others, lobbying for a change, diverse networks, and so on. There are no special qualifications or experience required for being a councillor. So both your unpaid and paid work and life experiences and any qualifications you have will add to the skills you can bring to the role. You could do it!
